Fr John Derek Persaud, Vicar General of the Diocese of Georgetown, Guyana, was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Mandeville, Jamaica by Pope Francis on Friday, June 19.
Catholic Standard reported that as soon as Fr Persaud can travel to Jamaica, he will visit Mandeville to meet with the Apostolic Administrator, Archbishop Emeritus Charles Dufour of Kingston, clergy, religious and the faithful to begin preparations for his Episcopal Ordination.
