On this morning’s journey, we saw a mass of grey clouds …. low hanging grey clouds… ominous, wet, cold, grey clouds. It would have been easy to turn back and say we will do this tomorrow! We would have had good reason. But instead of looking at the grey clouds coming, we decided to look at the silver lining! We decided to live in the hope that rain would not catch us on the hill, and that we would be okay and that even if it caught us, we would still be okay.
We decided to look at the silver lining in FAITH. And sometimes this is the perspective we need to take when faced with circumstances around us. We need to look in faith for that silver lining that God surely provides. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (No temptation here I believe, also includes situations).
So today, there may be some circumstances that are as “dark clouds” in your life, but I encourage you to look for the silver lining in the situation and rest assured that God Himself is in the lining.
He will cause you to awaken and see that maybe it’s time to do something different, or help you realise that restriction in eating that causes you to lose weight or that family circumstance means you spend more time with your children …
Remember the scripture above and know that you will get through this.
