No room in the inn! This was how the world responded to the birth of Jesus. St Luke says: “She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room available for them” (Lk 2:7).

This is scandalous! For thousands of years mankind waited for a messiah and when He came, we were completely unprepared. The child, the Son of God was born in a cow pen with all the other animals there. Amidst the smell, dirt and wonder of the animal world, Mary gave birth.
