The ‘Let No-One Go Hungry’ Project distributed hampers to 26 families from the Warahoon tribe of Venezuela living in Icacos. Of the 26 families, 56 were adults under 60 years and 44 were children under 16 years of age. Many were of pre-school and primary school age.
Their living conditions are not pleasant. The floor is sand. There are no beds, just a few mattresses and hammocks. They were very appreciative.
Nigeria-born Fr Hyginus Ekwuazu and volunteers were assisted by a Venezuelan national who was able to communicate to the migrants and extract data for our records.
