May 18th: And you must testify

The gift of the Spirit is for you to quietly fulfil your purpose amidst the difficult times.

John 15:26-16:4

You have received the gift of the Spirit from the Father. This gift is given to you so that you may stand firm in times of adversity. He has said to you, privileged child: watch around as far as your eyes can see and know that ‘all I have belongs to you.’  I was there with you from the beginning watching over you night and day; now, let your life be a testimony to this.

Like a tree in the wilderness, standing tall and strong against the wind, offering shade and shelter from the approaching storm; yes, quietly fulfilling its purpose. The gift of the Spirit is for you to quietly fulfil your purpose amidst the difficult times.

This is what you were sent to do: be loyal in the midst of persecution, provide peace in times of trouble and be the light throughout the darkest hour. Now as you prepare to face this darkest hour, continue to warn and encourage others. Still,  stand up and testify; and be willing to pay the price.
