Reigning seven-time Sanfest Best African drumming champions Nelson Street Boys’ RC intends to share some “licks” as they compete against some of the countries top drumming and dance groups at this year’s Lidj Yasu Omowale Emancipation Village, August 1 at the Queen’s Park Savannah.

The boys, ages 5 to 11 years have been practising Mondays and Wednesdays for one hour.

As for the upcoming Sanfest competition in October, the young drummers, along with their drumming instructor Stanley Thomas collectively agreed, “there is no competition”.
