Masses for PwDs in Central to begin

As it continues to promote inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) into church life through sensory-friendly Masses, the Bethesda Catholic Community will begin monthly Masses in the Central Vicariate on Sunday, May 19 at St Paul’s RC Church, Couva. Masses will be scheduled every third Sunday in the month at 11 a.m.

A media release from Bethesda stated, “For families with PwDs attending regular Mass can be quite challenging, but with this sensory-friendly Mass, which is approximately 30-40 minutes long, the congregation sits throughout, and please don’t worry about behaviour, those with disabilities—both children and adults, are free to move around.” Parishioners and those interested in a church experience which is sensitive to PwDs are welcome to attend.

“Sensory-friendly Masses have been a great source of encouragement and support to families and their PwDs, but greater support and awareness is needed as Church” the release stated.
